We used to use a 22-250 with 50 grain vmax's. Also shot plenty with the HK SL8 using 50 grain vmax. They popped just like the ones in the video, and red misted them if you got them in the belly.
One day my grandpa came out and saw what we were doing. We kind of thought he would enjoy it, since we were eliminating a pest in the pasture. Pissed him right off. He said, that's a native species, and your're just killing them for fun. The bastards carry the plague, but he made us eat one that we shot. Grilled the hell out of it. Never hunted them since.

Had a brother that would go up every year. Ranchers sure appreciated it.
I guess if I lived there and they were a problem I'd be up for it but I can't see traveling to do that. One thing you can so for exploding p-dogs... it's quick.
