Practicing a bug out.

Anyone do that? I'm thinking about doing a practice run, to involve, taking my bug out pack, doing an overnighter on the way to my BOL.

Thoughts?

Have done that several times. Not exactly what you would experience for real but an overnite with your bag
helps in planning to bug out.

I would love to pratice my actual bug out route from work, but I can't do that without getting caught and
hassled by the cops.

I have practiced bugging out on numerous occasions. Using several different routes. The one I have not practiced is getting home (or to my BOL) while away on a business trip. Another scenario that I need to run is getting my daughter home from college if things get bad enough.

My test runs have been in the woods behind my house and on national forest lands. It was fun and very informative, but never could convince the wife and kids to do it.
