As a seller you are required to set up managed payments (direct payments) which means you had to get a separate checking or debit account since theirs no way in hell you’d give them control over your main account.
You can use PayPal to still buy though.

I don't use PayPal due to it's outrageous fees. I sold some stuff on Ebay and paid 16% in fees on the transactions.

BTW, you only pay tax on a profit. A $1200 mower that sells for $800 is not profit. Any tax would be a long term or short term capital gain (if it is a profit).
