Question: If you were buying a used car from a private individual, would you want a bill of sale?
A car is titled property, a bos is required to transfer the title. A gun is not titled, it is like a rock or hammer, it is just stuff.

The only thing required to transfer title on a car is the signoff on the back of the title itself is my experience. Regardless, it wasn't just the car thing. I was really speaking about anything of value that is bought/sold.... It's not a problem for me if someone won't do a BOS on a gun they want to buy, because it won't be one they get from me if I ask for one.A car is titled property, a bos is required to transfer the title. Yeah....I see all you anti-BOS'ers and just have to laugh at the lengths you'll go to in order to ridicule someone....have fun with it, I don't care. You wouldn't be getting a gun from me anyway.I think that making a half ass effort ( which is not required by law) to qualify a buyer of a firearm can be used by a prosecutor, Defense atty or CIVIL ATTY. to make you liable for a gun's actions after it left your possession. That Atty could make the arguement that if you were attempting to qualify that buyer then why didnt you use an FFL transfer ?
Its the same as qualifying a driver that is buying a car from you.
To me its a stupid thing to do if you are attempting to protect yourself.
Is this your lawyer ?

You'd figure wrong.....regardless, BK [Burger King - Have it your way] if you want. No skin off my back.i dont buy from any of the the guys on here that do the BOS thing or the junior G-man ID checks or CCW checks, I figure they are the same guys that stash blue strobes in their grill and play LEO on weekends.
I find it strange behavior and separate myself from it.
BTW , My comments do not apply to dealers that are required to check.
Personal choice and outright ridicule of someone's position (e.g., "junior G-man" crap) are two different things. It’s everyone’s personal choice as to how they do business. No harm, no foul.
I’ve always just figured that established members on here with multiple trades over years are GTG.
same buttergolems that whine about liberals want a BOS with everything. Why do you even own guns when you are already giving into what the liberals want? If you want a REAL record that a gun has left your possesion and gone into the possion of a person able to own a gun, Take it to a gunstore, pay the $30 closet liberal fee, and whoosh you are now free and clear for the make believe gun confiscation carried out by the UN
