Over gassed rifles and buffer weights question

Curious as why to stay away from adjustable gas blocks? I thought they were good to have to “tune” in part of barrel length, buffer weight or ammo weight?
Because they are a mechanical part that can fail.

Some designs are better than others... but proper port sizing is the ideal fix.

Next would be mass and spring.

The Vltor A5 system seems to be more forgiving, as well. I’ve run the A5H2 buffer with the Sprinco “green” rifle spring in 5.56 guns as short as 10.3” and as long as 18” with no issues. That isn’t my preferred setup at the end of that spectrum, but it works.
