Openly carrying loaded long guns is permissible without a license if you are not a prohibited person.

The question was about open carrying a handgun. You can open carry a handgun without a GWL while hunting or fishing if you have a license to engage in those activities, and it is very much not made up.

And there is the rub. The problem is, I bet they can always find a law that you are at least 'suspected' of breaking. As a matter of fact, you appear to be loitering.

Anyway, back to the original question, while the initial charge of carrying without a license is a misdemeanor, I believe that a conviction for this disqualifies from getting a license for some period of time.

In the spirit of ODt legal discussions, I didn't actually look this up, it's just what I think the law is.
