So, I also went last thursday and picked out a cmp special rack grade for 650. For some reason I was delayed on the background check so I was unable to bring the rifle home that day. My delay was cleared on friday, so I paid and my rifle was sent out yesterday, it was signed for by wife and waiting on me when I got home from work today. It's a springfield receiver and all Springfield parts except for the new barrel and new stock. Most parts seem to be in good shape with little wear, except for the bolt, the wear is a little heavier on it but not bad. The receiver does show some pitting but the refinish job that the cmp does on them seems to cover them pretty well.

i use boiled linseed myself....several thin coats. Great sealer, a little dark, and minimal gloss.

I use Flaxseed Oil, the kind you get from GNC/CVS, etc. It's Raw Linseed Oil versus the other stuff with additives.
