I'm holding a NRA Range Safety Officer course on Saturday 05/22/2021. It will be held in the classroom in Canton, Ga. No live fire in this class.

Regular fee is $125 per student, however it will be $100 per student for ODT members or their family! This class is limited to 6 students total, so act fast! I accept Cash, Check, Venmo and Paypal. Paying the day of the class is fine. You will need to go to the NRA website and register so your spot is saved, link below.

A NRA membership is not required to be a RSO. Any questions please let me know!

RSO Course Outline
This course is designed to prepare experienced shooters for the basic duties of a Range Safety Officer (RSO). RSO’s ensure that those on the range follow regulations and rules of the range in order to reduce the potential for injury, damage and liability. RSO’s have responsibilities to take immediate action when circumstances require it. The RSO is the range’s eye's, ears, and common sense on the firing line to ensure safety and to help shooters.

Becoming a Range Safety Officer is a huge responsibility, similar to becoming a NRA Certified Instructor, with much harder testing and the maintaining of a certification card with the NRA. RSO candidates will need to pay $35.00 for processing their application and $5.00 annually to maintain their certification.

Course Goal:
“To develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.”

NRA Range Safety Officer Basic Lesson Plans:
1. Introduction to the NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course
2. The Role of the NRA Range Safety Officer and SOP’s
3. Range Inspection and Range Rules
4. Range Safety Briefing
5. Emergency Procedures
6. Firearm Stoppages and Malfunctions
7. Test and Review

Required Materials:
Open mind
1 inch or larger 3-ring binder
Pen and Paper
Good attitude!

Drinks and snacks are welcome. There will be at least a hour lunch break, with several short breaks through out the day.

A very similar range saftey course they make you take before you can be a member at River Bend. I highly recommend this to all new gun owners. It just makes good common sense. I can think of a situation where a guy goes in and buys his first gun one day. The next day he is joining a ramped up defense course. I would not want to be there that day.
