So I was digging through some boxes I got when my father-in-law died. I grabbed the box labeled “Gunpowder, solvents, oils” because I was looking to clean up some shotguns. When I opened the box there were 3 cans of gunpowder along with 5 plastic bottles. One of the metal cans was completely eaten up and powder falling out of it. There was an old bottle of copper solvent next to it as well as some other miscellaneous solvents & lead removers. The next metal can had a little rust and the 3rd one was fine.
The moral of the story is don’t store solvents next to metal gunpowder cans.
