That's a little encouraging.....I'd be curious to know what they think about that now. Regardless, I don't have the money to get one so it's not a consideration, really...
I remember when truck ads were based on powertrain
and towing abilities. Now more emphasis on size of display
screen and other doodads. Previous Lightning from mid 80s-
early 90s (?) was a performance based package.
Think a power generator for the house be a lot cheaper than
Ford truk-generator. Plus whatever catastrophe knocked out
power for 3 days probably sank the truck or dropped a tree
on it.
Notice no mention of price either. Think a base Ram is about
$35K now. One thing that struck me funny was any color other
than red or white costs extra $100-200. Not much in the whole
scheme of things, just the principle of the thing. $35-50K for a
truck but paint is extra. Oh you wanted a transmission and wheels
too, just a second..........

The recent news about the problems with the Chevy Bolt may have them reconsidering. They are catching fire while parked at your house. The good news is this seems to be a Bolt only problem. Generally speaking Tesla has proven it can be done.
It's starting at $39,974, that's before the federal tax credit.
I guess when they slap those big diameter rims on there with the 50,000 nuts on them they'll raise the price to $80K. That seems to be what's happening with other new trucks.
