Need recommendations on lowering my 4x4

All that height difference put all the stress on the front brakes, interferes with handling not to mention tire wear. So much undue stress on front components. The manufacturer takes the easiest route possible you know they do. It's the bottom line that counts not the performance of the truck.
Just remembered this - in 2005 GM used larger front brakes on all of the full size trucks half ton trucks and suvs. You can convert your 04 with salvage yard calipers and mounting brackets. Probably best to buy new 05 rotors and pads..
 
I lowered the bed on my Toyota Tundra 3.25" using a kit that relocated the leaf spring packs from sitting on the axle to hanging below the axle. This leveled the truck, the front suspension remains stock, and the 18" wheels and tires are stock. I have been driving on this set up for a little over 3 years.
