No lugs. Will take a couple pics in a while. Going to disassemble them and clean them. They are sweaty but look like they have been stored for 50 years. In a dry area. No deep rust or pitting on metal but wood is dry, needs some linseed oil. There was a modified Model 1916 short rifle and a True Model 1916 carbine. Carbine did not have a bayonet lug. Photos?

Sorry, both have bayonet lugs.No lugs. Will take a couple pics in a while. Going to disassemble them and clean them. They are sweaty but look like they have been stored for 50 years. In a dry area. No deep rust or pitting on metal but wood is dry, needs some linseed oil.
Great info. I cleaned most of the 50 year sweat off them disassembling....etc. But the only thing I added to their "character" was two coats of tung oil to the dried out stocks and oil/lubrication that some places hadn't seen in decades. They both seem very functional. Alley is going to check headspace for me soon and we will see if they still shatter shoulders. Thanks for the info gents!According to my reference material, they are Model 1916 Short Rifle, 2nd Pattern.
