Need HELP with Buddy's Golf Cart

Make sure all batteries are to full level with distilled water. Careful not to overfill or will overflow when charging. Hook up charger and let it shut off. Leave it connected. Jump it off from another cart or mower or bike. (Not car) make sure you are hooked up in sequence. There is a first and last battery. Should kick back in charger and allow to fully charge. They have a “safety” if batteries get too low and won’t allow the charger to do its job. I had same issue on a club car.

Maybe? Hope it might do the trick.

Go to a website called Buggies Gone Wild and select the Yamaha electric forum. Lots of trouble shooting help. You can check batteries individually and then the entire pack with a multi meter if you have one. I expect that you have a speed control issue and not battery related. Most chargers will not kick on until it sees a specific voltage from the battery pack like 24-36 volts if it is a 48 volt cart.

As the other folks said, It`s most likely a battery problem. However, if you know that all the batteries and connections are good, ease down on the accelerator just enough to make it creep along, then gradually increase speed. See if it keeps running at slow speed. Gradually increase speed. If it cuts out at a certain accelerator position, you may have a bad potentiometer. You can find one at a forklift parts dealer. It`s not expensive. You will need a volt/ohm meter to check/ set the potentiometer.

Thank you for all the suggestions and input.

Here is what he found.
1. He had the batteries load tested and found 3 of the six to be weaker than the other 3 so he replaced all 6 with brand new batteries.
2. With the new batteries the cart ran like a scalded DAWG!!!!
3. When he connected the charger it, the charger, cycled on and off like it did with the other batteries. We are thinking that when the new batteries run down the cart will act like it was acting before the new batteries.
4. He has ordered a new charger. We hope this corrects the issues.

Thanks again to all.
