Anybody here in to stamp collecting or maybe collecting gold stamp replicas?
I have a bound book that contains 47 replica stamps, issued by the US Postal Service, back in the early to mid 70's.
I was bought these collectables as a kid, and have just now remembered they were stashed away.
The info page in the front of the book says they are 22Kt gold, replicas of current stamps. They are in a nice envelope, and contain info about the issue date, etc.
Do these have any value? Is it possible they are really 22Kt gold? Maybe some value as scrap gold?
Is it some sort if junk the Postal Service put out?
I can take some pictures and post if needed.
Thanks,
Jerry
