Heading to Tejas for a deer hunt in January and need to carry my Delta 5, which is 44". Is Pelican the best? Are there other options for an airline secure hard case for a 54/55" interior case?

It would probably be hard to beat a pelican 1750 case although I'm sure there will be various others that would work.

Here are the dimensions and weight: (LxWxH Inches): Exterior 53.00 x 16.00 x 6.12 Interior 50.50 x 13.50 x 5.25 - Weight 25.6 lbs

They are heavy but built like a tank if you are looking for protection of the rifle as your main concern and aren't too worried about price.

I'm not familiar with many other options but I own a couple pelican cases, one being a 1720 (same case, just shorter) and it has been a fantastic case.

You could also look into the pelican vault line of cases which I believe are still very well built just maybe not quite up to the standards of their top of the line models. They should also be a good bit cheaper as well if that's something you're looking for.
