Navy Seal Talks about Proper Grip

Literally everyone who shoots professionally, or has to be tactically proficient, positions their hands thumbs forward.

Of course thumbs are forward. I'm referring to his focus in this video of developing his index from the trigger finger back and everything about his exaggerated & slow draw stroke. And if you want to slightly improve consistency in getting your support hand on the pistol, it's faster to rotate the pistol slightly in the direction opposite his recommendation: inward, like you just finished a reload.

Since you're such an expert, feel free to make a video and post it here on how it's supposed to be done.

Recent video of me drawing to an 8" plate a bit inside 20 yards:

Note that I disavow the position-exit footwork technique in this video. It was something that I was playing around with for a bit.

I took a class from JJ Racaza last weekend, Ben Stoeger in October, and spent a couple days training with guys who made top 16 at USPSA Nationals over the summer. None of them draw anything like the dude in the video. I think that I'll continue modeling my shooting and teaching on Ben & JJ and ignore him.

Good shootin!
