My Serbu 50 Cal Exploded

That's lucky a$$ Scott. Spoke to him a few days afterward. From what he said, he thinks it was because the SLAP rounds were stored too long (or possibly loaded incorrectly). He doesn't know for sure and doesn't want to burn any bridges.

The rounds he used were reloads and look questionable. Some weren't crimped and some had burning traces.

Not sure where the pic of the ruptured neck 50 BMG cartridge came from. It's not the cartridge with the case head separation that Mr. Serbu extracted from the Kaboomed rifle.

Holy cow what a crazy accident. He's lucky to still be here. Can anyone shed light on what are these "Slap rounds"? In the video he says he got an extra hot slap round that generated > 85,000 [corrected] 161,000 psi, which is what blew up the rifle.

Maybe it was from his **other** kaboomed rifle??

I have never seen that particular sabot and Tungsten penetrator used in any 'Mil-Spec' slap round ........ ! The 7.62 sabot's I posted looks like the mill-Spec 50 cal sabots I have seen ...............just in 7.62

I'm not familiar enough with those rounds, so you'd know better than I.

It was from another malfunction. I was just showing how gnarly those rounds look afterward. Can't imagine having that next to my face!
