It ran about four years ago the seller said. It needs a battery, new clutch and brakes he said. My goal is to get it running, including whatever the engine, transmission and brakes need. Going to just work on the rusty areas to stop as much rust as possible and leave it ugly looking for awhile. Maybe I will do a nice paint job some day.

Fond memories of these from when I was a kid. Summer camp had a fleet of CJ8s.Probably 10 or them. Wooden benches in the back. Muddy trail rides were a blast. I bought one some years ago only to find the only part salvageable was the steering wheel.It's crazy what these things are bringing these days.

These folks over in Kingston have some of the nicest Scramblers I have ever seen. They sell parts and might be a good resource. I spent enough with them on my 1974 CJ5!

Many people must have missed the word...Scrambler...worth it's weight in gold, even as a rust bucket! Nice find. Wish I got to it first.

Those motors are indestructible,sadly those transmissions were not. I blew out 3rd gear twice on mine,very expensive fix. I had a 83 CJ7.
