I like a good click and have one that will not cooperate. I tried the two tricks I know, sharpening the point on the detent and doing a little spring stretch and it's not working. The safety is a Solgw ambi in a BCM lower. Who knows another trick?

What grip? I've run across a standard A2 grip before that had the spring pocket drilled too deep and I'm not sure stretching the spring would have helped, I just used a different grip.

How clean and sharp are the detent recesses in the safety body?

I did not pay any attention to the safety body. I did sharpen up the point on the detent and it helped a little. I dug through Mikes mystery parts bin looking for another spring and found a spare geissele and put it in. I'll get the solgw back out and post pics.

The mushiness usually comes from the channel itself being full of burrs or marks from the casting, you could give it a polish ? If it where me I’d call SOLGW they pride themselves on their QC and would be happy to fix the issue I’m sure.
