multitool porn!!!

Just picked one of these up a week or so ago. I swapped my MUT out for it and the few times I've used it so far it's been great.

Also nice that they are from right here in GA.

What is it called and where can I get one

Sorry, forgot to add that didn't I?

It's called a MultiTasker Series 3 (there are older Series 2 versions out there). Unfortunately you can't get them direct from the company (http://www.multitaskertools.com) and most of the dealers they list are sold out.

I was able to get mine at Red State Tactical (http://www.redstatetactical.com) but I can't guarantee they will be in stock there anymore. Should be about the same price as a MUT ($110-120), if you see them for more the company is price gouging.

It doesn't have a MOLLE pouch like the MUT, but it does come with a decent selection of hex drivers on a neat little click-together 'frame'. but they do have to be carried separately (not a problem in my range bag).

So far I'm pretty impressed with it as a range-specific tool. It's definitely aimed at firearms maintenance, not general multi-purpose use like most Leatherman and Gerber tools. I'm pretty sure the MUT will soon be demoted to GHB duty.

man that is perfect for a range bag why don't everyone have one and why is this the first time I have seen this!!!! would you say the quality of the tool is good enough to build with?

I just heard about it a month or so ago on a gear podcast, and it took a while to find a place that actually had one in stock. It is a better fit for the range than the MUT I was using before.

I don't know if you would build an AR from scratch with it. I mean it seems plenty strong enough, but the individual tools would probably be easier to use. For example while the castle-nut wrench is great to tighten up a loose nut, I think I'd want something with a longer handle when building a rifle.

I'm sure it would stand up though, it seems as tough as any Letherman I've used.

I went round and round a few months ago about an EDC 'multi tool'. I wanted as small as possible. I thought about what I really would use more than rarely. I kept coming back to the same very few items. Blade, philips, flat head, tweezers. That was it. Well, nobody makes just that.
I finally got two, both Victorinox. The small tinker for work and the one handed trekker for weekends.
I was immediately stunned how much I use both and am VERY pleased with both.

I absolutely love my Wingman - Everything I need - nothing I dont. I thought the flattened phillips head was dumb at first and didnt think it would work very well but it does.
