I took these pictures up close and personal from the east side of Mount Etna. I got up early one morning and drove as far up the roads as possible, then I hiked up the east side of Mount Etna. At first I thought I was sweating from the hike. As I was taking the pictures I realized another hundred or so yards I would have reach the top of the east side. That's when I figured out I was sweating from the heat of the volcano. I finished taking the pictures and got the hell out of there.View attachment 1928767
For a point of reference I was using a 35 mm lens.

That would be a little too close for my taste.
