I'd put a set of calipers on it and go from what I learned.
Go smallest possible you can always go larger if needed.
I'm almost certain you are correct, but it's been a while, it was a press fit I believe.

I just had it jetted too, that's what sucks! I guess it's only money right. Just more upset I can't ride it right now and I just sold my Vstar.
Its a fuel inlet. Common problem on that bike. drill and replace with brass, or use a harley replacement direct fit

Yep, replace with brass is the best way to go. In a pinch though JB weld and a plastic 90 from Lowe's will do the trick. If you use the full strength stuff it can even be tapped....
Update: Thanks insulinboy! I looked at the forum you posted and got the P/N ordered the fitting for $8.45 on Ebay, made my own tool to remove it and I'm back in business. Fixed a few other issues while it was apart time to clean her up and get ready to ride.
