Seriously, if he's willing to finance you a MT... go for it. They are great knives and hold their value... But don't give up your cheap knives, they have a place as well... If I am going somewhere that I think I might bang up or lose my MT, I take a cheaper knife that I won't care as much if I damage it, lose it, get it confiscated, etc...

I keep a couple $18 Kershaw Shuffle 2's on hand, just as "throw away" knives if I am traveling or out on a boat or something... where i might lose it or have to leave it behind for some reason...
