Metal detecting finds

This has always been a curious hobby to me.
What would be a decent detector to look at as a start to get into it?

There are a couple threads on here about it. I read those and then picked up a detector and pinpointer from a member here for $500 I think. It’s really fun. Just an excuse to get in the woods for me.

I personally use a Whites MXT. It's a great all around detector that you can change the modes from relic to coin/jewelry to gold.

get a pin pointer too and save yourself a lot of needless digging and hunting.

That's a great detector. I've always been a white's guy but I've been thinkin about trying an At Pro or something Garrett.

It's a Whitney Revolver. Almost in restorable condition.

I do a lot less digging on trash with this one, a lot less than any I’ve owned before.
In fact sometimes I’ll dig it just to prove a point, it’s very dependable.
I like the fact it’s waterproof and I can take it in and out of the creeks without worry.
