Needing a good camping knife for my son. I see them priced all over the board. So what's a good knife and good steel. Will be used for just general utility work.

It's a great pick as a general purpose camping knife.
I use one in the kitchen everyday . I've had it for several years and never sharpened it . Just a few strokes on the butcher steel is all
Got my son in law one for Christmas
For a cheap knife, get either a Glock 78 or 81. Saw back is worthless just so you know. You will have to put an edge on them as they were About the dullest knives that I have ever bought. $30 what did I expect.
