Long term food storage

Thanks for the info, I assume you are ironing one side ?
I use a cheap flat iron off amazon. I set it to the middle setting. Takes about 2 sec to seal.

Yes, that has given me a good seal. Try to get as much air out of the bag as possible and put an O2 absorber in it. My wife has sealed some with two iron seals instead of one. One has been good, squeeze the bag after you seal it and if the seal is not good air will escape. Just run another seal if that happens.
 
The best bang for your buck is Firehouse subs used pickle buckets they are food grade and good ones , 3$ with lids.
I bought a couple in the past; the pickle smell is permanent. Free.99 from Kroger is better.
