My three sexy ladies.
.308 marlin express JM MXLR with 3-9x40 NIkon, 1969 336 pre safe 30-30, .444 XLR JM with Leupold 3-9x40 VX-II.

Heres a BNIB JM stamped 1895 45-70 GS

JM stamped 336 30-30 RC with leupold 4-12x40 rifleman.

My winchester model 94 AE angle eject with a 3-9x40 Simmons scope. I think.
Took many deer with this rifle.

Still seeking. .410 XLR lever action marlin shotgun and a 35 rem.......could always use another 45-70.

My favorite is ever so accurate .308 marlin express.
It can hit a mite on a gnats back at 100 meters.

I had since sold or traded every one of those rifles.

Got this 1895SBL yesterday. Made Feb 2019. Fit and Finish are great. Cycled a whole box of ammo through it and it cycled flawlessly. First marlin I’ve seen in a while that impressed me. Can’t wait to shoot it.

I’d like to hear some solid feedback on low power scopes.
My eyes just need some help in the woods, and I’m torn between a scout set up and a conventional 1-4 or 1.5-6 or the like.
I have ghost ring set up that I like now. Whichever scope setup I choose, I might run it as a quick Detach.
I welcome your experienced opinions.

I would not go with the scout setup, more difficult to acquire the target. You can probably find a good bit of info on the scout setup on the WWW.

I setup an 1895M in a scout configuration and could not get used to it, I shot better and quicker with Ghost ring sights. I have a 336 in 35 that I’m contemplating trying a low magnification standard scope on.
