Less than lethal shotgun color

Oh, sorry. You wanted a serious answer.
I don't know.
BUT.... I just did a Google images search, actually several searches with various words and phrases related to using shotguns that are dedicated for use with only less lethal ammo such as bean bags or tear gas or rubber buckshot, and here's what the search results (images) showed:

More than a dozen such police shotguns were orange, both on the fore-end and the butt stock.
Two shotguns were zombie green. Both fore-end and butt stock.
Two shotguns were yellow. One only has the barrel painted yellow, and the other had the fore-end and stock yellow but a standard blue / parkerized steel barrel.

So, the verdict seems to be-- ORANGE.

In my experience, the most common color is bright orange or “safety orange”, but there aren’t any rules or regulations on it. An agency can mark them with whatever color they want to, or not mark them at all.

More commonly, I’ve seen just the furniture done in orange, although I have seen at least one that was Cerakoted entirely orange.
