It's not a firearm. Nothing illegal about it as far as I know. Like others have said though, busybodies could cause trouble if that is a concern.
Got to agree with GAGunguy and Wolfpenhiker,, now days the way people are someone will call the cops and who knows what will happen

Exactly. It may not be illegal but you will be guilty until you prove it. I had never thought of it. When I was young we had good guns through out the house. My 20 gauge lived in my room behind the door.
If the barrel is welded shut, and you fire a blank, where is the pressure going to relieve? How much powder is in a blank?

This is what I did with my son, then he started Air Soft my wife made sure all his Guns had the Orange Tips.

Had the cops called on me when I was teenager back in the '90s because I was seen crossing a road that divides our property while carrying my Ruger 10/22 with scope and a 25 round magazine in it. Sheriff deputy stopped and ran the serial number, then gave me a ride back to the house to check with my grandparents that I had permission to be out there with my gun.
I used to walk across Hwy 300 in south GA with either my 10/22 or a 12 gauge shotgun pretty often during hunting season before I was able to drive and never had any other issues. That being said, it was a pretty rural area of south GA during the early '90s.
