Anyone familiar with Lake Russel ? Any tips on particular places to bass fish not too far from the boat launch ?

It's all good,a beautiful lake full of fish. It has been tough lately maybe
this will cool it down some.
Where you wanting to put in at? Middleton ramp is good up beaverdam cr, or go on down to the 72 ramp closer to the dam.

Been a few years since I’ve been but most of the time I put in at Middleton, Pearl Mill or the ramp on 72. Always fished in Beaverdam Creek. Buoy markers always were a good bet. Hit some coves in the creek. Rip rap around the rail bridge was good in cold weather. Lots of standing timber in a couple coves. Also watch for Elbertons finest. They will write tickets. Good luck.

If you’re putting in at the state park, go up Coldwater Creek to the left. The bridge is pretty good at first light and the evening. Plenty of good pockets and points that way.

Don't know if you'd be interested, but there are some big Stripers at the Richard B. Russel Damn tail-race.

Timing of the year is the main factor. At the right time of year you can catch just about any kind of fish that you want to anywhere on Russel.
