Item has been relisted, you can find the new listing at: https://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/threads/fs-ft-jm-marlin-1894-44-magnum.2532959/
Item Name: FS/FT JM Marlin 1894 44 Magnum

    Location: Alpharetta

    Zip Code: 30076

Item is for: Sale or Trade
    Sale Price: 900
Trade Value or Items Looking For: AR Pistol DD or BCM plus cash from me.

    Caliber: 44 Rem Mag

    Willing to Ship: No

Bill of Sale Required?: No, but I want to see ID.

Item Description: I'm selling my 1978 JM Marlin chambered in 44 Mag. Pre safety.

I'm the second owner of this rifle. I've only had it for about 6 months. It still has the Kmart scope (which is suprisingly accurate) the original owner installed. It has some scuffs and one nick in the stock (see pic).

Now, the bad. It jams (not all the time) when pulling a bullet from the magazine tube. I've only fired 12 bullets through it from 2 different manufacturers and I'm not sure what's going on. The jams started after the 3rd bullet. I had a gunsmith look at it and I was told I'm not swinging the lever hard enough, or that the weapon didn't like the ammo. I specifically asked if anything was broken, bent, or defective and he said no.
The gunsmith was able to cycle it without any issues using ammo from Hornady.

Im selling it because lever actions are just not my thing. This was my first, and to be honest it just frustrates me. I'll be applying the funds towards an AR pistol.

It will come with 1 box of Magtech 240gr (45 out of 50 bullets), and 1 bag of GA Arms hollow points (43 bullets). The GA Arms are reloads, but it's all I could get my hands on when I bought the rifle.

I'm applying the money towards an AR pistol so I might be interested in a trade plus cash from me. I'm looking for a DD or BCM only. Specifically, the DDM4 pdw or a BCM under 11 in.

A new carrier would fix that up. They get worn where the snail cam rides it. Throws the timing off. Easy fix.

Thanks, but I lost interest in it when I realized how difficult it is to clear a jam. I know it's not a big deal, but having to remove a small screw and drop the lever out in the field is a deal killer for me. It was fun to shoot though, and very accurate!

It's possible. I was using Magtech and GA arms reloads. The gunsmith said he used Hornady and didn't have a single issue.

Like I said it’s brand new never been shot bought it from palmetto State army in sc. full factory not no kit and piece together. Only reason why I would consider letting it go is bc I bought a palmetto State arm 308 ar.
