Item Description: 1983 Springfield M1A receiver
McMillan heavy fiberglass stock, glass bedded.
Harrington & Richardson bolt contracted to Textile Machine Works
Unknown barrel, I assume something of excellent quality, I won’t disassemble the rifle to inspect.
Only marked RE SNODGRASS where the barrel markings normally are.
Same with trigger group/pack and OP rod, bedded in place and I don’t want to mess it up taking it apart.
Every dang part on this thing is bedded or sealed.
I have not fired this but I do have some M852 so I may do a function test eventually.
Of course I’ll take any picture you want or you are welcome to examine the weapon.
This is the backstory, I purchased this in Blue Ridge where this fellow lived from one of his friends who he personally built this rifle for.

“He served our country as a Marine for over 17 years and afterward became a Mechanical Engineer for the United States Army until his retirement. He also engineered and filed multiple small arms patents mainly pertaining to the M1, the M14 and M16 rifles.”
“Bob Snodgrass designed the first floating handguards for M16, the BFA for it. He held several patents on small arms parts. He was also the "authority" on sniper systems having been a USMC Sniper in Korea and was recruited by L F Moore to come to the Army Small Cal Lab.”
This is a once in a lifetime chance to own a piece of history.
It’s hard to value something like this, also this is the kind of thing I know you will want to examine before committing to, of course so that’s absolutely no problem.
