Honestly man I wasn’t aware they sold. I was told they weren’t in business any longer. Lost some pretty big contracts. (I don’t know the reasons) If someone bought the company I’m unaware.
So I googled after I posted. The Head Down firearms company I was referring to was originally based out of Dallas,Ga. I see there is one in Tennessee now. I’ve got no idea if they are related.

I have one of the original very early HK12’s! Fantastic rifle 4-16 Swarovski with ballistic turret, 18” Wilson Barrel, 77 gr Black Hills bthp sub MOA serial 483 they use to let you shoot your gun before you paid they had a Range in the Bremen Area if I remember correctly. Also last gun in the safe for me.

That sounds like a nice rifle. But when you added that Wilson barrel that kind of transformed it from being all factory built rifle. I have a 6.5 Grendel that belonged to one of the owners. Put a proof barrel on it and it’s one of my favorites.

It’s complete factory the way they built it for me, they let me choose from several barrels and suggested this Wilson at that time they custom built there to the customers preference. The Red Headed guy built it. Forgot his name. If I remember correctly this was in 2009. I’ve only put about 350 rounds through I would have to look at my DOPE book to see the exact count! Don’t wont To shoot it much to keep count down but Occasionally I pull it out and am still amazed by the accuracy. I too have several with proof Research barrels and the Lothar Walther barrels and I think this rifle is as accurate as any of them. But as we both know the rifle is only as accurate as the shooter and with every year of age you loose a little bit of nerve and eye sight. AND IM PRETTY OLD. Im glad to see there are some people out there that appreciate the quality that Head Down produced back in the day. Hank45

Somewhere I have some targets with 2.5/2.75” groups at 325 yds that I produced when I first got the rifle after I broke in the barrel. But like I stated that was 10 yrs ago when I had better nerve, Breathing, and eye sight. I think I’ll get it out this weekend and re-zero the scope for the temp and see what I can do. Thanks for the inspiration. Hank45
