Item Description: 'm selling my 1974 MG MGB - it has less than 100 miles on a fresh Ford 2.3 Lima swap and 5 speed transmission. Bit of an upgrade over the factory 1.8 this car came with and the additional gear helps in the highway. The car looks OK but it's not perfect, it looks great from 10 feet and better in pictures but does have a few spots that need attention. The frame, floors and rockers are rust free, there's no cancer but the rear driver to the side of the trunk has a spot that was previously "repaired" that needs to be redone as well as a tiny spot on the front passenger fender at the corner by the headlight. The driver door has a piece of sheet attached to cover a "death crack" to prevent spreading and stop vibration, the frame is good but I would replace BOTH outer door skins. It does include the factory hardtop seen in pictures. It starts, runs, drives and stops well and also sounds pretty good. It does need a few things before being a "daily driver" - non-vacuum distributor, I'd replace the radiator hoses, tires, turn signal switch and the parking brake routed. I'm pretty firm on my price, will accept partial trade

That' so cool! Never heard of that type of swap but it's a damn good idea. The 2.3 Ford ( Pinto, Ranger, Turbo Coupe ) engine is solid as it gets.
It isn't a bolt on easy swap... all the mounts were hand crafted and the driveshaft was custom made. I have been tempted to invest a bit more into it but I have to many cars.

I kinda figured that. As far as I know nothing was or is easy when dealing with the English cars. Yeah there has been a small block Chevy swap for Jags for decades but that's mainstream compared to this.

I am also on the fence on ordering a new vacuumless billet distributor, shiny valve cover, shinier air cleaner and header wrap but I dont think it would really increase my return so probably not. If I do, I will also go ahead and replace the door skins both out and inner, have it repainted and put the T-Bird turbocoupe EFI turbo setup on it :p

especially if you replaced the Lucas, prince of darkness, electric system. those british leyland cars were such a pain
Right now it's running a MSD ignition box with mechanical timing. This block was actually from newer EFI ranger and has a crank sensor but it's DC'd. The cylinder head is from a Turbo Mustang but updated with the newer roller style rockers. Most of the fuses have been rerouted to run off of a pair of marine style fuse blocks, that wasn't my doing but it seems to mostly work ok. I've been digging into it deeper each day and sorting it out a little better than the previous owner who started the swap left it before I bought it as a half assed non-runner. It wouldn't take much to convert it back to EFI but it wouldn't be worth the hassle unless you're going to turbo it and TBH it doesn't stop fast enough for me to want to go any faster :p
