Doesn’t bother me. I don’t require any of that, but a seller requiring it wouldn’t keep me from buying something that I really want.

I can’t count how many members here have my home address already. I’ve had many over at my home shop to work on their guns, and many that have trained with me have mailed me payment.

I agree with the OP, I normally browse on past listing requiring a bill of sale. I don’t have the feedback numbers a lot of you have on here, but have traded and sold a few firearms and I’m always looking to add more deals to my feedback. As a retired LEO, I personally don’t see the point in asking for a bill of sale on firearms that I have for sale or trade. I do insure that the person I’m dealing with is who they say they are are, by a quick peek at the DL and GWCL. Like previously stated, sellers property, their rules.

I was looking at an ad earlier and the rifle looked appealing to me. I was seriously considering contacting the seller but in reading his ad he required a bill of sale. That's not that unusual but then he had the caveat
Name, Drivers License number, address required

I'm sorry, I'll tell you my name, let you look at my drivers license, but you don't need that number and I'm sorry, I'll tell you what town I live in but not going to give you my address. I've got feedback (not a ton but I'm working on it) and have been posting on here for quite a few years. I respect most folks here but I'm, for the most part, not going to invite you to drop in for tea.

Am I being overly picky and paranoid? I give copies of my DL and permit and all that info to the stores for the 4473 but I know where they are and I'll visit them again. I'll visit at the exchange and I'll sit close to you at the M&G but we aren't going to be taking long hot showers together.

Maybe I'm old fashion, maybe I'm just old, but I just don't get it.

For me I never require any of this, and only ask for a peek if I’m uncomfortable with who I’m meeting about age. For me, you’ve been a member for so long I do a deal with you in a heart beat 10 years no neg good to go. And no your not picky I wouldn’t do a deal with him either!!!

I saw an ad this AM from someone with zero feedback who said produce a carry permit or you cant buy from me (in so many words) no matter how new or old you are to the site…..
