Are you going this year? I'm considering it (never been). I'd seriously need to not bring any cash.
Went to a Mecum auction in Monterey in 2013 and then hopped over to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Even if you don't bid/buy anything, if you are a car but I'd recommend at least one trip to one of these. Tons of fun just being a spectator.

Watched this one sell for $3,750,000

I could never imagine having this much F*** You money to buy a car but man was it intense! My heart was racing the whole time. Different experience when you're there.

$3500 for 50 years at 6%. $69,775. No maintenance, no storage, no insurance.
deduct from that $69,775, about $28,000 in inflation (purchasing power) losses, and then state and federal income taxes (varies of course) and a different picture will emerge. One may have more scoots (USD fiat) but may not have gained in purchasing power from the original currency.

I too have been wanting to go to one of these auctions. Kissimmee seems like the best option.
I say no to auctions are a good deal.

The commission is 10% (or 13% online).

You also have to trailer it down to the site (FS) or trailer it back to GA and pay taxes (10% + 6.6% ad val tax).

The real winner is the Auction People.

ODT could attack this with a 0% commission for members deal with a pre-arranged delivery. We trade guns this way.
