I once did a search of colleges and universities in and around Austin and they probably have more than cities 3-4 times their size. Absolutely crammed full with liberals.

Interesting to see how this turns out. If you have no professional leadership with experience and a proven track record of excellence there is no way it can turn out well.

My understanding of defund the police initiatives resolves around police unions that protect the goons on the force that get all of the misconduct complaints and reprimands but still keep their jobs. Only way to get rid of them is to defund the force and fire everybody and start over from scratch.
