Help me figure out trailer spindle

Hey fellas.
Borrowing a buddy’s trailer and bearing race welded to spindle. need to replace a spindle. This one seems to be welded at the joint. Where my finger is.
grinded what I thought was the entire two welded spots. Maybe it’s rusted in place. Idk.
Experts guide me through please.

had one go out in my boat trailer on way back from FL. Spindle was ok so replaced the bearings and on my way.
This spindle is done

What are you replacing the bearings ? If not I am pretty sure you have to replace the whole axel. May be wrong but that’s what I ran into

Or you can cut the bearing band off and it it is not scared up then you are good to go

It’s pretty galled up

More than likely will have to replace the axle.

They are not hard to replace, and all and all not terribly expensive

Northern hydraulics. One piece axle center spring perch about 58 inches, 82 bucks without hubs. Price goes up from there.
