I have a marlin camp 9 it fired the bolt stayed back . and will not close.I think it needs the buffer repaced.need gun smith in the woodstock area. thanks

Are you sure the bolt hold open didn’t lock the bolt back?

The buffers are known to crumble/disintegrate. Mine did in my Camp 45 and cracked my stock. I got a replacement from Black Jack buffers.

A friend I just went out shooting this past weekend and one of the guns we used was his Marlin Camp Carbine in .45 ACP.
When he took it apart to clean it afterward, he found that the buffer in the receiver had been totally destroyed and was just a tablespoon of crumbs that looked like gravel in the gun's action.
Yet, it seemed to work fine that day!
