Ground Blind Hunting

This is my first year hunting ground blind. I have always hunted climbers. But the club I am in now is mostly planted pines. You experienced blind hunters want to share some tips? Thanks in advance!

Clear some shooting lanes out of each window in the blind. Shooting rest might be helpful.

I’ve had deer come in very close to the blind and other times spooked them. Difference was setting up the blind weeks before the hunt if possible. I believe they can get used to seeing it.

Try and limit the amount of light that gets into the blind. Also remember when shooting you’re at ground level. Bullets will travel farther

Oh!! And rake the entire ground out of the blind to keep noises down if needed to move in the blind.

crap I forgot about that.

I've killed a few out of ground blinds including a doe last Monday. She came in with another doe at <15 yards. You definitely have to be more careful about movement. Like mentioned above, wear black face mask. Also, only open the winds you need. This helps reduce the amount of light coming into the blind.
