More sadness.... STEAMED is the proper way to cook it. Not saying a good boudin won't overcome any efforts to destroy it but it's designed to be steamed. Boiled is a second when necessary. The rest are some kind of yankee perversion.

And by the way... for the love of all that is holy, you do NOT eat the casing (at least not when steamed you don't......).
Admittedly, the proper way to eat it, obviously without utensils.... is .... um...... disturbing looking to the uninitiated.
