I bought 250 rds of hp.223 today AT A BUSINESS TOO.. I paid 180.00 and a new storage came with it.. was that a good deal?

It’s hard for me to see these prices. I havent bought ammo (except for .22s ) in .....forever ! 40+yrs ? More ?
I cannot remember ever buying ammo....
i have been reloading ammo with my father since i was in my early teens if not earlier.
I remember my dad laughing at .20 cent per round for .44mag, .45acp....anything we shot we reloaded for.
We always casts our own bullets , many rifle rounds using harder lead and a gas check.
Sometimes we would buy jacketed projectiles if it was something we got a good deal on or if it was something we really got some power behind.
He showed me how to make plinking, everyday ammo..... to working precision rounds with a single stage.

I am sooooo glad i have these tools and knowledge - now if primers and powder would stop going up ...... and get more plentiful, i would be in great shape !!

I bought 120 rounds of soft point 223 for $75 from a member on here I was happy

.72 cents per round is not too outlandish is today's market, especially for good ammo. All that matters is you felt it was worth it, so it was a good deal.
