Good North Ga AK gunsmith?

Ive only heard good things about you and your work looks fantastic. And you are just a few miles down the road from me.
Roughly, what kind of lead time? I dont really have a schedule and dont mind waiting. I originally was just excited and naively hoping someone could turn it around in a few weeks.
I might as well have a kns piston put in at the same time too.
Completely understand. I'd be happy if I got to it by the end of the year to be honest with you. Might be better off sending it off to get it done as I'm sure it would be much sooner. I'm just knee deep in some very complicated builds currently and since I'm apparently the only one in the country doing them they continue to come in regardless of how long the projected wait is.

For a simple chop, reface and re-crown One could get the tools from Brownells and DIY.

Essentially your doing it by hand with a bore guide in the right caliber (Brownells has several guides (muzzle pilot) and special tool) One can use a hand drill or by hand to cut/reface the barrel square, and re-crown in a similar fashion with their crowning tool and guide. Its not too difficult I have done a few jobs myself.

Save tools for the next project(s)

A lathe is ideal but sometimes good enough is simply that.
