Not a mark 4, but I had a mark 3 cut and threaded at an inch and a 1/4.
I do have an extra upper for my mark 4.

I have not shot the R9 yet, Easy answer is both, but if I had to choose one probably would be the R9 because of cost and modularity, it’s cheaper, can be used on 556 and 308 which the 9k cannot , and also has the universal adapter thread pattern for multiple mounting options, I do like how compact the 9k is though
