I agree with most all of what you say about the possible harm caused by short usage but I do take issue with your 'power' statement. It is categorically less fuel efficient by volume than gasoline. Even the government admits this.

Research again. We use it as race fuel.
The vehicle will get worse fuel mileage because it takes more volume and compression. But it will pick up about 8% more power. It is noticeably mor powerful in my 2002 Flex Fuel Suburban.

I don’t need to research it. Less mileage efficiency by volume period. For me the extra power implications are not a factor.

Not sure about fords opinion of no ethanol for a flex fuel vehicle but Chevy says only 87 octane or e85 for their flex fuel 5.3 engines.
