I know the places in our town that do not have these. I choose to buy gas at these places. If I’m out of town I guess it’s just luck of the draw. They are certainly distracting and annoying.

On most of the pumps, one of the buttons is generally reserved as a mute button. I dont know that Ive ever seen one marked “mute” but after pressing them all, you usually find one that works. Or maybe I press them too hard 
I hate them. You cant go anywhere anymore without having some form of advertisements thrown in your face. Except for home. There are no advertisements when my wife talks

I'm not saying it's me, but someone around here keeps a roll of duct tape to tape over the speakers.
I fill my truck every Wednesday morning @ 345am going shooting at circle k, the speaker so damn loud I started carrying a roll of duck tape to put over the speaker
Off button for sound (aka, mute). Start at top left button. Press it. Go to the top right bottom. Press it. Go to the button under the top left. Press it. And so on in a zig zag pattern. Mute. Ya’ll can thank me later.
So now it’s ok to destroy someone else’s property if it annoys you?
