Item Description: LETTERED Smith and Wesson 'First Model' This is the first of the side swing type manufactured by S&W to fir the .44 S&W special cartridges. Commonly called by its nickname 'Triple Lock'.
This is sub 1k serial and was shipped from S&W on 12/29/1910. The star next to the serial indicates it was returned to the factory for rework and refinishing. The target sights were likely added at that time, as were it's current grips.
Comes with the factory letter of course and i'll toss in the protective Borestores that i keep it in. (love those things)
As for price, the only one i found similar is listed on GB for $4k. The most recent sell will a serial higher than this one brought $2325, 20% finish and rather worn looking mechanics, beat up handles and no letter. I feel my price is very fair considering. I’m open to reasonable offers or trades.
Will need to capture license/concealed permit information to log it out of my 03FFL book.
Trades for silver/gold welcomed. You won't find another like this. Very nice shooting too. Just have other interests.
