FS Compass Lake Early AR15 A4 Upper receiver

Here is an AR15 A4 upper receiver that I no longer need to store. Made by Compass Lake Engineering. before regular A4 uppers were available they made these with the steel extended rails. Lightly used but in excellent condition. Side sight plate(can be seen in photo)(as I recall) hold Redfield International/ Olympic rear sight. $100. we used to do something similar only we used surplus A1 uppers,mill off the top and attach a mount,plenty of cheap surplus ones around.

Yes, but this one has forward assist and a redfield mount.

i hope i wasn't misunderstood,when we used to do that the surplus a1 uppers were 5-10 bucks each,the military was surprising them,shave the carry handle drill a few holes and viola flat top

No problem, Many were doing that modification to fill a demand and those A1's that were all over the place. I just know that Compass Lake is a quality shop and I had built this receiver with a 24" Douglas match barrel to shoot the 600 yard match's with Redfield sights. I found that it would reach 1000 yards on a low wind day. Then my eyes went on me(Atlanta VA botched cataract surgery). Now I don't shoot anymore and have sold most of my stuff. Just have a few things left.
