Item Description: Someone come buy my nice old 1st Gen Tacoma 2wd Prerunner! Its high mileage (286K) just like almost all of them are nowadays but its in great shape with a few very minor and what i consider to be normal dings for its age. no rust anywhere ever and certainly none on the frame rails. Just a good honest truck nothing fancy. 3.4 Liter V6 Auto. No check engine lights on its in great tune. I bought it about a year and a half ago and I have replaced the radiator, shocks, plugs, fuel filter, front brakes and tires. Super clean and dry underneath and uses no oil between 4k changes. If you look it over it will be obvious it’s been taken care of. I am listed as the 3rd owner but the first 2 were the same family it was a hand me down Father to Son deal. The timing belt and water pump isnt due until 330k miles. There is a tear in the front drivers seat back. Runs and drives great. Has a current Ga emissions inspection.

Dogtown Darren Dogtown Darren this your old truck?

No Sir, it's not. This is a different truck.

I sold my old truck and bought a brand new 2019 Tacoma. The new Tacoma was very nice, I simply didn't like it as much as my old one. It's admittedly strange, LOL, but I never claimed to be normal. I contacted the fellow that I sold my old truck to and asked him if he'd sell me my old truck back, and he was kind enough to do so. I then sold the 2019.

So, long story short, I still have my old truck. Luckily, the 2019 held it's value very well, and I didn't lose too much money when it was all said and done.

I hear ya! The new ones are great and very capable. But they don't seem to instill as much loyalty and pride of ownership as the 1st gen Tacoma did. The Hilux even more so. Ya'll causing me to have second thoughts on selling!

I’ve got a 2002 xtra cab in the same red. My wife will tell you that what’s mine is hers, and what’s hers is hers, except this truck. Don’t get rid of it.

Swap the driver and passenger seat and back upholstery and it’ll feel like a new truck. You’ll have lumbar support that’s been missing for 10 years. And it’ll hide the tear.

That is a great suggestion for the seat. I hadn’t thought of that. It looks like im going to follow your advice on keeping. I’ve been pretending I would be able to afford a newer Tacoma but the prices keep climbing further out of my reach....and my truck is still way better than it’s supposed to be given the miles.

Here’s mine:
