The darn little @$#<&% ☆♤$#^& have been sneaking in at night and eating the tops off my tomato plants and stomping on my peppers and who knows what else could be going on out there...

Someone told me to sprinkle coyote urine oh, have you ever tried to get one of those things to pee into a barrel?

Looking for some reasonable answers...

So, thus is how I built. Short PVC pipe, half inch diameter. Drill a hole all the way through for your pin that attaches to your wire. Near the bottom put two short screws 180 degrees offset from one another. Screw them into the pipe leaving a gap between the two tips. Inside the pipe put a ball bearing and hold it off the contact point using your pin. The other wiring I'm sure you can imagine, it's just a simple circuit. Negative I wired direct to an Estes ticket motor igniter, positive down to one contact screw and return positive up from the other to the igniter. I capped the top of the PVC just to keep rain from flowing down in there. The battery, igniter and firework went inside an empty can. I kept that upside down too just to keep rain out. Ran wires through the side if the can and sealed with hot glue. Bottom of the can I covered with saran wrap, then a rubber band to keep it held on for a good seal. When it goes off it just blasts downward toward the ground and blows off the saran.

It worked great the first night deployed. When I reset it the next day I added alligator clips to the wiring inside the can so I could just reset the ball bearing , replace it's pin and clip in a new charge using the alligator clips.

Simple, cheap, fun project. Might want to warn the neighbors depending on how loud a firework you pick though! An m5000 at 3 in the morning tends to wake people up. I probably should have started with a flash pot in retrospect. Those are super quiet but would scare the hell out of an animal.

take a old rag and dunk it in diesel fuel then wrap the rag around a wood pole and. If you place the ragged poles around the plants the deer will hate the smell and ignore it. The diesel fuel will evaporate in the suns but the scent will remain
